I pretty much use the same password for everything, changing it to fit the criteria(numbers, capitals etc) Realistically speaking it isn't. Most times your password gets hacked it is just someone brute forcing through passwords until they find yours, so it doesn't matter how random your password is. The best way to use a secure password is to have 2-step authentication, or have a really long (30+ characters) password. I try to avoid sites that don't let you do either of those things. It is kind of funny how people think hacking is this amazing, mysterious thing when most times it is just someone writing scripts to brute force their way into a site. Either by sending tons of requests or trying to find bugs in the code. --- I am a senior software engineer. If you see me post here, I am tired of writing TPS reports. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Or you can just whine about how everything might be hacked. Because it can. Get the fuck over it. Either use the same password, or use a password locker and stop bitching. Seriously. Everything can be hacked but there's so many measures in place to catch it once it is it almost doesn't matter. If somebody steals your info and you don't notice as long as you are up on your latest statements you should catch it within weeks. Any purchases over a certain amount are already autoflagged anyway and with all these cameras around it won't be hard to prove you weren't in another country when it happens. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I use a ton of passwords, but most of them are kept on an excel sheet on a hidden thumbdrive with a backup on a SD card which I've hidden at another home that I have a key for. Granted, a lot of the passwords are saved in whole or part on this laptop (and some on the other laptops), most of which are relatively unimportant. And, in general, a lot of things I do use separate passwords for are unimportant.
