Games disappear from steam nearly every day. There're a few reasons why this happens:
-dev closes down -license expires on an ip -new version of the game is released -dev breaks terms of conditions (most common way is "buying" thumb ups and positive reviews) -dev threatens violence on valve employees ... Copied to Clipboard!

Although you can keep the game if you own it, you won’t be able to buy Alan Wake again as of May 15. sounds like you just can't buy it. I don't see why you would need to have it installed but idk --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

If you buy/activate a game on steam, it will always be available. I have plenty of removed games that I've played to completion.
