So in this game, is anything below 5* considered worthless?

Hrmmm kinda yeah, but I have 5*s for almost every single character, pretty easily heh. 4* can be "usable" but eh, you'll certainly notice that character not carrying their weight with not being able to 1-shot Break enemies as easily.

Getting multiples of the 5*s is when you're *really* awesome though. My Ace has 2 level cap boosts and he's deathly.

So glad I got max upgraded Layle weapon though <3, when you max level the weapon gets all platinum background instead of gold and it's glorious.
