So I need to go for a minor procedure on my tailbone and need to be put out for it. I just have one question, I am super freaked by needles and I know I need to get one to be put out, but will I wake up with an IV in my arm? I would flip shit if I need to wait for a doctor to take it out >.> and do I need an IV before the surgery? They say it is supposed to calm you down but honestly I feel it would make me more anxious.

If you're getting put under I'm pretty sure you'll wake up with an IV in

I remember I tried to pull mine after I woke up from my surgery

But then my nurse told me that's where the drugs were so I left it

Edit: you most likely won't remember them putting the IV in and if the anesthesia fucks you up enough you won't even remember having it after either

I have no idea if you'll have an IV when you wake up, it's a case by case basis. When I was out though and woke up I was so disoriented that nothing could freak me out. It's not like falling asleep/waking up. To me it felt like watching a video and it just skipped from once scene to the next.

I doubt even if you get an IV when you first wake up you'll be coherent enough to care.

Yeah that's how it was for me when I woke up. I was just suddenly awake and I was like oh am I done now?

Then the pain started

FUck my life >.> the pain does not bother me. Can't get much worse than it used to be. Problem is last time I got put out was for my wisdom teeth. I remember waking up and was fully alert immediately. The people tried to help me out of the chair and walk me to the resting area but I was like fuck that, pushed everyone away and walked by myself. Granted that stuff is probably weaker, but still I am worried...

And I can't wear my dope kicks in the operating room. That bothers me too >.>

I had my ankle reconstructed so I just chilled in bed in the hospital for 3 days

I couldn't even get up to pee, I had to go in a bottle and have the nurse flush it >_>

I spent over 12 hours resting after my appendectomy but I was out the night after I entered. I barely even remember anesthesia. I remember trying hard to get out all my fluid and solid waste beforehand and that was the main thing that delayed me getting in to the surgical room.

The pain varies depending on what's done to you, but mostly you'll just be on pain killers and out of it the first day to week depending.

I'll be out immediately after, just need to cut off. Section of skin and some tissue underneath. I want to remember as little as possible lol

Yes, because just incase something goes wrong after they don't want to have to stick an IV. You'll already have it in

but you dont feel it coming out. I had a ton of surgeries as a kid and the IV just slips out without you noticing.

had to use that bottle.

wasn't dealt the best hand in health growing up :(.
