I've played half an hour into Pearl and it doesn't seem any slower then Platinum. Even saving takes about the same time frame. What's up with that?

Because you can OHKO a Blissey, put the game down, make a cup of coffee, and come back to catch the last bit of the HP bar ticking down.

This, and a few loading area sections were handled... Less than ideally. There's several easy and consistent areas to abuse on bicycle (including the bike path right after the second gym) that has the game fail to keep up with rendering things ahead of you and then you can enter the void zone, and end up in the hall of fame. Platinum actually renders things properly and avoids those issues.

It literally is. Surf speed, battle speed. And yes, saving does take the same amount of time.

Huh, I didn't know void glitches still worked. I only knew about the original one involving surfing through the E4 doors in the Japanese version
