this is bullshit. $2,259 is from that stupid penalty from not having health insurance even though i wasn't sick at all last year and had no medical expenses. grant it that's about what i would've payed to have health insurance but fuck i dont want to pay that shit when im healthy

That's sort of how insurance works. If people who didn't need insurance in a given time period didn't pay for it in that time period, the whole concept of insurance would collapse.

That's sort of how insurance works. If people who didn't need insurance in a given time period didn't pay for it in that time period, the whole concept of insurance would collapse.

i dont believe in forcing people to buy insurance. that's part of the gamble. also i don't agree with the supreme courts decision that it is like a tax because with a tax you get stuff like roads and schools but with this if i got sick i would still owe the hospital plus i would still get hit with the penalty even though i probably would be able to write off part of the medical expenses at least. with that said i also believe everyone should have access to health care and for the most part that is what we had before the passage of the aca. people without insurance could go to the er and be seen. they would just be hit with a bill that could get negotiated down. i also remember non-payment wouldn't hurt their credit score. collection agencies would just bug the shit out of you
