Neither of those things actually exist. Nothing really matters, and our existence is just kind of a coincidence. And one day we'll all die and if we're really really lucky, we'll be famous for just one thing. And that's what people will occasionally talk about us for. Forever.

But it won't be "us" they remember, it'll be that thing we did. But even then, we probably don't know anyone who'll even get that lucky. The best we can hope for is to keep ourselves busy with unimportant nonsense until we die. And that's it.

Happiness is fickle.

When I was a baby, Barney made me plenty happy. I could've watched the damn show every day. Or so I thought.

But things get old. Humans are fickle, and nothing will ever make you happy forever. You constantly have to move from one thing to the next because things bore us. That's why I don't believe in the prospect of a "soulmate." Nobody completes anyone. Nobody's here for anyone else. There's no such thing as a soul.

Because as someone else pointed out meaning is personal and subjective. Even if there isn't an objective, all-reaching meaning to it that doesn't mean you can't find your own fulfilling reason for your own.
