With some characters, they change their backstory to fit them into modern times. like how Punisher used to be a Vietnam war vet. I think they updated him to a Gulf War vet or something. But one person is posing a major problem. Magneto. he is MAJORLY tied into the holocaust. it's part of who he is. but it's getting to the point now where a survivor of the holocaust still being around is becoming more and more unrealistic. in 2017 he would be like 90 now I think, depending on his exact age in the war. Now imagine how this will look in like 30 years. They will eventually need to do something about this.

Not really.

They can do what they did for Captain America. Have him freeze in time for awhile and then come out whenever they need it, if they want to keep him modern.

Couldn't they just make some BS claim that since he's a mutant he's longer lived than a normal human?

magneto was this major mutant terrorist in the 60s but then got stuck in some ice. Gets thawed out in modern times.

Itll take a continuity reboot of some kind but tbh the X-Men could probably use one at this point.

Cause it's going to run into a pretty major issue with his age and how he's still running around as a villain. Dude should be in a nursing home sucking down prunes, not getting into fist fights with teenagers.

DC and Marvel comics have a slowly updating world. I think another term for it is sliding timescale. The characters were created in the 60's. but they are all still the same age now today, and it' 2017 in the comic world. They want to keep the same characters so they don't let them age. but sometimes it creates weird dated problems when you run up against things like historical relevance in someone's backstory. you probably don't know this but Iron Man has a origin in Vietnam too. In the movie he was in the middle east, but in the comics, originally, he made his suit after being injured and caught in Vietnam while helping the US troops with an invention.

There are hundreds of ways to deage someone in comics.
Pick one, go nuts, instant Magneto again
