I'm a diehard SW fan but I wouldn't say it's an unpopular opinion. I'm with TC in that I loved RO, but I understand how people could find it slow.

But yeah, I agree TC I loved it. To me it's what the prequels should have been.

Leia was good, but Tarkin looked like he was ripped out of the Jim Carrey Christmas Carol.

I quite enjoyed it, more than Ep 7 and far more than the prequels. The final battle was something I've been waiting well over a decade to see yet didn't realize it - a land and space fight with modern CGI and choreography set in the OT's timetable. You could tell parts of it suffered from rewrites and requiring knowledge of external sources that I personally didn't have - Saw Guerrera in particular - but it was easy enough to overlook.

The only thing that really rubbed me the wrong way was the CGI'ed Tarkin and Leia. Not really for the fact that they were included, just my initial reaction of 'oh...um, look, I know CGI is still wickedly expensive, but I thought they'd look way more believable than this.'

How do you figure? The only external source for him was him 20 years previously being trained by Jedi to fight the CIS. Nothing in the movie relied on that.

Really? I thought it looked pretty real on my tv. She seemed a little glossy.

I think i loved it because of the tropical like setting. So used to snow, space, or dusty ass places
