In the comics he is in Seattle now, I think. And they film in BC. And I saw a licence plate that said Land of Mist which supposedly has a connection to BC. But Bloodhaven seems to be nearby and in the comics that is on the east coast

Somewhere with a coast and is 600 miles away from Central City. Central City in the comics is in Missouri and at least one letter written to Star Labs in the show list it as being in Missouri. Whereas Star City in the comics has never been given a firm state location, but in recent years has been depicted on the West Coast. The show has at least once used Washington postal codes for Star City.

End summary: Who the fuck knows.

Watching the shows, I always assume Star City is Seattle & Central City is Portland.

Seattle makes much more sense than somewhere on the East Coast as the Queen's Gambit sailed off to China, which would be impractical as hell if they were leaving from New York or something.

they were made back when the oldest comic reader was like 10 years old. the names of these cities date back to the late 30's when comics were simpler

Smallville is. Metropolis I think is in New York State. ironically in that universe it's more famous and bigger than NYC, in it's own state. and Gotham is across the water in New Jersey. I saw a comic panel once that showed a Gotham drivers liscence and it said "Gotham City, New Jersey"

Metropolis and Gotham are both based on NYC. Metropolis is based on NYC in the day, and the best parts of the city. Gotham is based on it at night, and it's worst parts
