I'm alone at home and suddenly this small alarm clock in my grandfather's room started beeping (he probably turned it on accidentally, I thought). I was in the middle of a game so I let it beep for a couple of minutes before going to turn it off.
Anyway, as I was going to, I noticed the sound started to falter, like the battery was going out and just 1-2 seconds before I picked it up, the sound stopped. The weird thing is, the clock was still ticking along and the alarm function was set to off o_o
I'm not making this up lol, dunno what to think of it

Maybe it was a noise in the video game?

Maybe he turned it off before you went in to check, but after it was beeping?

Well yeah, grandpa isn't in your room playing vidya with you, maybe he left the house after turning off the alarm?

I'm denying the possibility as I believe in that sort of stuff but it is possible the alarm quiets itself down and shuts off as it goes off.

Good point, it would be worth testing by setting another alarm to go off in a minute or two, and then waiting to see if it turns itself off. Though the alarm switch being in the "off" position does seem to imply that somebody else went in and turned it off before TC checked on it.

He left with my dad this morning and hasn't been back. Plus this is a small apartment and all the doors are open, I'd literally hear any movement at all (hell, the main door's lock sounds like a freaking gunshot when it's closed)

No way, it's a small analog watch-like thing and the alarm on/off is a physical button that you have to slide

Maybe you didn't hear the noise of someone walking around over the noise of the video games that you're playing?

Did anyone else hear it? I have heard chimes on one side of the room and people on the other side of the room didn't hear any chime and then it happened again but this time they heard the chime and I didn't. I have no clue what chimed. It was faint and cute sounding.

Well, those were just some possible scenarios I was suggesting to maybe help you figure out what was going on.

At this point, it's probably time to call someone.

But who do I call when there's something strange going on? lol

But seriously, I'm just gonna ignore it. If it was a ghost let him COME AT ME!

Realistically, if something like a ghost actually existed, and all it could do was turn on and off an alarm, then I wouldn't be too worried about it being hostile. It's probably just testing the alarm out to make sure it still works, so that your grandpa can get up on time and get to work regularly.

Seems pretty nice, IMO.

Get your phone and do a burst EVP session. Start recording and ask random questions. Then play it back. That's the only investigating you'll be able to do without buying any speciality gear

Yes. I've done it several times in abandoned hospitals. We have that special gear though. Go ahead give it a try
