The man defers part of his salary into a retirement account for 36 years and somehow that makes him evil. They must be getting pretty desperate if this is what they choose to attack him over.

but it's the NRA, it's not a company selling a real product. They rely on memberships and donations.

If he was the only one contributing to the plan (as in the employer didn't match contributions to a certain % of his total payment) then $3.7M (the actual amount) equates to roughly $100k per year.

Now I don't know if he had invested that or if it was earning some kind of interest but there's people that don't even make that much money in a year let alone being able to put that much away.
