If he was the only one contributing to the plan (as in the employer didn't match contributions to a certain % of his total payment) then $3.7M (the actual amount) equates to roughly $100k per year. Now I don't know if he had invested that or if it was earning some kind of interest but there's people that don't even make that much money in a year let alone being able to put that much away. --- ...
