Yeah it's fucking amazing. The recent update also made the towns less frame rate laggy on the Wii U version. It's crazy seeing the Switch version in comparison on those areas, but really the worst one is Zora's Domain, which doesn't frame lag that much compared to what it used to.

Otherwise, you're not playing at a loss or anything

I'm actually not sure. You can set it that way I think. IIRC, I actually got a prompt to update, but I did play like everyday for a while :P

look for Kurkos EVERYWHERE

also, make sure you find Eventide island, but try not to read about what's actually found there. it's really neat. it's on the far SE corner of the map. you need ~2 full stamina wheels to glide all the way there.

You're going to have a great time, it's such a great way to kill time on the road or on airpl- "on my Wii U"
Oh. Never mind then.

But in all seriousness, it's fantastic. Go in wit the mentality that you want to just explore everything you see, and you'll love it. The story isn't all that great, it's pretty awkward and told in a weird way, but the exploration more than makes up for it.

The story is actually quite innovative on how it's told. You're told a basic premise, and you have to fill in all the details and all the details not told from implications and deductions by yourself, and the game doesn't baby you through the story with stupid cutscenes. It's a damn good storytelling actually, though making most of them about Zelda when Zelda wasn't really likable until the absolute end leaves for a bit of wanting

^at least this is the first time (of any zelda i've played) where they actually attempted to make zelda an interesting, fully fleshed out character

i agree the storytelling was great.

Wind Waker and Spirit Tracks, and Skyward Sword all give Zelda a pretty fair bit of characterization.

Expect some breathtaking scenery. I went in knowing nothing aside from like the first trailer at E3 or wherever we first got the video and I've been blown away. I'm having more fun just running around and seeing how amazing they did designing all of the many areas than I would be if there were enemies everywhere and I had to fight constantly, it really is a game of exploration which is awesome.

Tetra was the best!!! I wish she was a mainstay of the series instead of just being an alter ego, she was super cool and interesting compared to most Zelda characters.
