I have a Pekingese/Pomeranian mix.

Came out the door.
3 pitbulls start approaching my dog.
Pull him back behind me, so I get attacked rather than him.
Raise my voice and tell them to go back.
They approach more.
Raise my voice again.

They ended leaving but damn...I'm fucking scared. I know not all pitbulls are bad, but there's a lot of shit people where I live. My Dog is going on like nothing happened <_<.

But i'm shaken up. Was I right to be weary?

Yes. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being cautious/protective of something you love and care for. Even if the threat level was minimal, acting to protect your dog is not a problem.

No I'm not worried about small dogs.

I'll take the hit if that's the case. I had my earphones in awhile back and some lady with three full size poodles came home right as the minute I was walking by. Attacked me..still fucking scared of that happening again.

If I was a second faster.. it probably wouldn't of happened.

Of course.

Nothing against pitbulls, I love all dogs, but as an owner of a tiny dachshund he couldn't defend himself if a large dog attacked. When I see large dogs approach I stand in between my dog and the other dog just in case, even though it usually ends with my pupper giving the other one the business XD

I heard of a story from like last year in Seattle where this lady was right outside her home with her dog and this dog owned by a homeless man just ran up and mauled and killed her pet in front of her. then some homeless called for it, and it ran onto a bus and left. it was fucked up. the lady left Seattle cause of it.

The reason pit bulls are scary is because they have everything they need to attack. They're most likely out of any breed to have the intent, and more importantly, they have the ability.

Doesn't matter as much if other dogs are aggressive, because they're not that hard to fight off.

That isn't even close to true. The reason they are so dangerous is the second part of your post, which is true that they have the ability to cause damage that other breeds don't....but they aren't some mindless breed that wants, or has the intent, to attack and harm everything around them.
