When I saw some fights break out between them, I was like "oh did not see that coming ". Woke me up to their cultural differences I had not considered before. One of my instructors happened to be from Kenya and she failed a surprising amount of black American students for various reasons. There were subtle hints that she was particularly critical of them more than other students. I asked my classmate who was black why and she said some black people in African countries have low opinions of black Americans in general. She said they were "snobby, stuck up". Like I don't if that's true, but that's how she explained it. I think part of it is due to the fact that most of us (African Americans) don't have much of a connection to Africa anymore. Especially when a lot of us don't know our country of origin either.
