Juat beat taurus demon guy. He isnt all bad if you have the right demons with the right skillset. The game is hardest so far at the very beginning where enemies can ohko you and your chumpets.

After level 10 the regular battle are auto mode worthy and the bosses are okay if you are prepared
This is my first mainline SMT game. The spinoff i have played are persona 3/4, strange journey and devil survivor 1/2

I think devil survivor 1 is the most brutal of them all, followed by SJ.

Survivor 2 is easier and persona games unless you play on hard (which is just enemies having more HP bloat and hit harder) are piss poor easy too

Eh, to answer the topic title, if you always bring counter demons to boss fights, you're not likely to ever have a hard time. You could still get stomped by a mob if you're playing blind. But if you're playing while looking up every enemy's weaknesses and strengths the game is only as hard as your (lack of) preparation allows.

Toward endgame, there are optional fights that can wreck your shit (think Devil Survivor Lucifer) in spite of your preparation if you misclick or they Smirk.

It honestly doesn't. Beginning was the hardest, and it gets easier from there. On Neutral path right now, will finish after P5.
