There is a lot of stuff about suicide in the game, and I read an interview with the director of P5 that the whole point of the game was to be a reflective analysis of contemporary life in Japan. Is suicide really that big of a cultural problem there?

How does it work? Is it like Doom (FF) or does it have a chance to kill every turn, or is it immediate/next turn?

Every time it's your turn, you lose MP and cannot act. After 2-3 turns, your character succumbs to despair and gets KO'd, no matter how much HP you have.
