Ever tried anything that was too complex so you gave up?

Late-game trinity universe just by virtue of having to memorize all the special attack patterns, their attributes (certain ones could provide a boost to other things in a combo) and how many button presses you needed.

60+ button press inputs during your longer turns, 20-30 during regular turns. Expect to spend 3-4 minutes because you have to wait for all the animations, and certain (read: better) characters had longer attack animations. Oh, plus the super attack that you could throw at the end of every third to fifth super combo depending on gear.

The difference between that and hyperdimension neptunia is like the difference between a 1960s super computer and a modern super computer. Things got streamlined a lot, flow a lot more reasonably and even made the speed of things shoot up.

Honorable mention to dwarf fortress because it's massive and complex, to the point that you can do well without understanding things but when you actually understand how everything works, the amount of things you will be doing at a single time soars. As does your population.

Kingdom of Fire: Circle of Doom (I think that's right). The gameplay itself is extremely simple, but the stats and how they work is confusing as hell. I still didn't quite understand it by the time I stopped playing.

The learning curve is so high for that game.

Bladestorm. That battle system is way too weird to wrap my head around; I went in expecting Dynasty Warriors in a Hundred Years War setting.

You haven't set a signature for the message boards yet. Might wanna get on that, yeah?

Probably some kind of really complicated Minecraft mod.

Like there's one that adds these little robots into the game, but you have to legitimately program then with some kind of coding language.

I found Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1 very confusing at first and quit both for months/years. I thought it just had really shitty combat because I didn't get the stamina system and I wasn't used to dying so much in a game.

Sim games (Tycoon, SimCity, etc.) never really seemed fun to me outside of sandbox modes, so I always avoided that genre. Tried Kerbal Space Program briefly at my last job and could barely fly the premade things, let alone build my own.

Dwarf fortress hands down.

I managed to play just fine after hours of tutorials, it but never master it.
