Yes i am surprised no one asked her...even i went to prom with someone Yes i am surprised no one asked her..but i didn't go to prom either Yes i am surprised no one asked her..even though i went by MYSELF No i'm not surprised she didn't get asked, but fortunately i went with a DATE No i'm not surprised she didn't get asked, although i did go...by MYSELF No i'm not surprised she didn't get asked..however i didn't go to prom either. View Results 17 y/o Lily Bilgrey from Freehold Township, New Jersey is making a stand against "promposals" by asking HERSELF to Prom because NO ONE asked her!! She came up with the bizarre solution after feeling sad over the situation but instead made a joke out o fit by photographing herself by holding a placard with the pun "You can't spell memes without me prom?. Since none y'all willin to take one for the tteam" Then it shows her with a mock surprise and even photoshopper herself that shows her standing next to herself as she is injecting some "fun" into her high school prom that she think people take too seriously Lily said "I thought the promposal scene was lacking some comic relief. I decided that, since i didn't get asked, it would be perfect to ask myself in a funny way. I knew i would say yes, so that took a lot of pressure off" She has mixed feelings over this though and said "In some ways, i like them, i think some of them are super fun and creative. But there's a part of me that feels bad for those who don't get asked in an elaborate way. If you want to ask someone, do it because you want to have a good time with that person, not because you want to have the most elaborate promposal" She's now developed a fan following of staggers as people call her witty and that some guy will ask her out one day.. I had a girl ask me to homecoming once though, but she only asked so she could get in (I was a junior and she was a freshman and freshman/sophomores could only get in if they were with a junior/senior). She straight up told me that's what her intentions were, and that she wanted to go to be with her friends who had also suckered nerdy junior/seniors into taking them. Maybe she's just intimidating? I've known girls that seem like a perfect catch but never got much attention and I think it's just because they seemed unapproachable. I was my wife's first b/f (though there were definitely guys that liked her). Maybe she's stuck in the same boat? A lot of people go to the prom dateless anyway. I was "too cool" to go unless I had a date, and I did, but I think I went with the wrong girl (she was nice, but she liked me way more than I did her)... There were two that seemed obviously interested, and I predictably chickened out and chose the safer one, which ultimately proved to be more awkward and less interesting than my friend who liked me and I also liked. Going to my wife's prom after I met her (a few years later) proved to be the better of the two... I enjoyed it a lot more than my own in virtually every way, but that's probably my fault for taking an adoring fan to mine instead of someone I didn't want to blow it with.
