Sonic is depicted as an alternate Jesus. He offers people chilli dogs and people mistake it for his flesh ala Jesus with the bread, and he gives people grape soda which is the "wine". Knuckles, Tails, Silver and Shadow are some of The Apostles, Amy is either Mary Magdeline or the Virgin Mary and the villain is either a fake Jesus or a cult leader who uses the Christian teachings to indoctrinate people into a more extreme, fundamentalist sect - less like Christianity and more like a cult.
