Depends on if they look or act dodgy. I'm kind of used to strangers striking up convos with me, it tends to happen a lot when in a shop queue and such, I dunno why maybe I just look friendly, but generally I don't mind.

Unless it's a party or bar, mildly anxious because I suspect they're either asking for something or trying to sell me something.

In a setting that's supposed to be social, I tend to welcome it.

Anxious af because I have anxiety and it happens to me a lot for some reason. People also mistake me for people they know too. Once some lady thought I was her daughter like wtf.

However I'll try to be polite if approach, but it makes me anxious because most of the time I'm not interested in engaging in a conversation and I'd have to make it not so obvious.

Generally I want to be alone.
I work (typically 8 hours a day) dealing with the shittiest type of customers (I work in a video game store). I have bipolar so when I get overstimulated I start to freak out. I have so much energy and attention I can devote to other people, when that gets used up I flip out.

Some obvious exceptions: I ALWAYS talk to little kids if they approach me. They don't know better and I love kids. I'd be pretty pissed if some random guy was a total ass to my son.
Pretty girls always get a pass. I know it sounds bad, but I've been single a while so whatever.

A stranger is just a friend you haven't met. When a stranger comes up and engages me I always talk with them until they start asking for money. There are a lot of sad and lonely people out there just looking for any sort of human connection.

It's cool. Unless they're a fiend or annoying. It really depends on the person, the reason, and how they're comin.
