Only been about a week now. But I mean the soreness keeps getting worse each day I do it. Shouldn't it be like...gradually decreasing? The first day it was pretty easy. Now though it actually is kind of hurting.

Is it supposed to be like that? I mean it's not enough to deter me but I need to know if that's how it's supposed to feel. Wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

Like the first day I could do 50-100 sit ups no problem whatsoever. Now it's actually difficult.

Is it better to take one day a week, two, etc? Day on day off? How should I do it?

I've been doing it for a third week now, and I'm still a bit sore from last night. First and second week I went two nights per week for about an hour to hour and a half. Mostly treadmill, and some light weights. This week I plan on going three nights. Last night I walked/jogged about 4 1/2 miles in an hour and a half. Probably a little too much. I am an old man after all.

For me, it's not wanting to loose my motivation, so I figured the more I go and the harder I push I will stay motivated. But there's no fun in being sore so long that even the days off in between aren't enough. So I think tomorrow I may take either a bit slower pace, or not jog as long. I may try one the other machines too besides just the treadmill.

Depends. I would suggest every two-three days to take a day off, but you need to find what works for you.

Dude you can't workout everyday, that's bad for you, please educate yourself. You're supposed to do it 3x times a week, not more than that.

dont work out the same muscles every day.

Set a schedule and stick to it. A little soreness isnt bad it means your muscles are working.

I really am very ignorant when it comes to this lmao. Will I actually see results only working out 3-4 times a week? That won't take forever to be noticeable?

What is your routine?

I don't have much equipment or anything. Right now I just do sit-ups, push-ups, and mostly just whatever other do it yourself type exercises I think of. Usually try to do 50-100, or until I can't bring myself to do more in the morning. Tbqh I don't really have much of a routine. Just been doing it each day whenever for as long as I can manage to. This is mostly because I didn't want to bother getting anything set up until I proved to myself that I'd stick with it.

Also, TC, you have to build up to the habit of working out. Motivation only lasts so long, but discipline lasts forever. If you go balls-to-the-wall right out of the gate, you're setting yourself up to fail.

Start by working out 3 days a week and build up from there.

Appreciate the advice here. I'll be sure to try to make a schedule and work up to it.

I have a big whiteboard I keep all my lifts, weights, set and rep count along with my body weight and an area for time for yoga and distance for jogging. When I started getting back into shape I think it was important in keeping me motivated and honest with myself.

I would say at a minimum take off 2 days a week. At most take off 4. You will get to the point relatively quickly where body weight exercises can be done daily.

Sleep is also really important. And how is your diet? If you are exercising for aesthetic reasons remember you can't outrun a bad diet.

Keeping a log sounds like a good idea. And I'll be sure to keep taking more days off in mind.

As far as sleep goes I usually get 7-8 hours a night. Sometimes 4-5 though depending on my work schedule. And my diet is pretty bad. I eat healthy probably half the time I'm eating; the other half I'm ordering fast food or pizza lol.

I'm not trying to exercise for weight loss or anything. I'm like a skeleton right now. Just want to put on a little bit of muscle to look better tbqh.

stop doing this entirely; it's a lot easier to have discipline on that and replace it with decent lazy cooking than it is to stay on top of all workout routines. and it will do more for you.
