I can't believe people actually bought it, Brian is Seth's mouthpiece and he uses him for his stupid singing every season finale and you think they're gonna off him for good? Just because they offed a bunch of side characters several years ago doesn't mean anyone is on the chopping block, they killed those people off because they had no more jokes left to write for them and none of them were popular anyway, who still remembers Mort having a wife? If anything, they should kill off Cleaveland and Joe's families since they never do shit or even speak. I don't think we've ever seen Cleaveland's family aside from Donna actually show up on camera since his show got canned. Would anyone really care if they were all killed in a housefire or something? Does anyone even remember that Joe has 2 kids?

I recall being kinda glad that he was dead, and was more distraught when he came back.

Brian used to be my favorite character on the show to becoming the one I hated the most, so his death was more of a relief than anything, and them copping out was just one more reminder of why I stopped watching it years before this particular stunt.

I remember there was a topic about how unlikable Brian was on the IMDB boards for Family Guy and it was basically a giant circle jerk about how terrible his character was. So to my surprise when they killed him off, I go back on the board and there was a giant shit storm about it, even from users who originally said that Brian was a shitty character.

Personally I never really liked Brian and kind of gave up on the show when Stewie stopped trying to kill Louis and when it started getting really political. I heard that it isn't as politically charged as it used to be now so i might give it a shot.

Yeah this tbh. I thought Brian's death was kind of symbolic of adult cartoons honestly. Like Family Guy and South Park should have died and stayed dead years ago but they keep getting brought back for some reason.

I don't know about that but early Family Guy and South Park feel like a time capsule now. Watching them takes me back to that late 90's/early 2000's period.

The dumbest part of this was how they tried to spin it like they brought Brian back as a result of the fan's outcry and that it wasn't just a completely planned stunt even though episodes of the show take 6 months to make and the episode where they brought him back aired less than a month later.
