EDIT: And there's a fascinating story about how nintendo pulled this shit back in the 80's during the chip shortage. When they couldn't keep up with demand and atari made their own carts, Nintendo sued the shit out of them --- 5820k (H100i) | 32gb DDR4 | Asus X99-A | EVGA 980 SC | 512gb 840 pro + 2gb WD Black | Nvidia Surround | Ducky Shine 5 ... No idea why gamers care so much but I doubt Sony and Microsoft will move away from them thanks to the cost.
Only thing that could change is if they follow the lead of the Switch and make a portable Xbox/PlayStation that can share games with a console. --- Kind Regards, Darmik ... Copied to Clipboard!

I have this bad habit of replying to thread titles and not reading any of the contents. I remember this being a debate during the PSX/N64 era. If cartridges, or even floppy disks had the storage capacity and could stand up to modern gaming, i'd be entirely on board. Cartridges are far more reliable than discs as well. Disc rot is already hitting PS2 era discs and will eventually destroy them all, while cartridges from 40 years ago will still work today with a little cleaning.

If they made cartridges for PS4 I'd gladly buy them. It's just cheaper to put them on disc, and unless they have some reason to change over like for a portable system I doubt they will, so not really worth worrying about.
