Uh yeah, not everyone is a car person. Hell, most people really car people, they just want to get from A to B in something that they like. There's a reason why cars have lots of different body styles. By that logic all cars should just look the same.

What are you even talking about? I'm saying if you want a performance vehicle, then get a performance vehicle. If all you want is a grocery getting econobox, then get one. Cars of all kinds come in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors, so I don't know how you're misinterpreting what I said. If I was in the market for a pony car, it had better have a V8 in it. If all I care about is maximizing MPGs, then I'm in the wrong planet by considering RWD sport coupes. I'm just asking for consistency.

Also, for most people, will they ever really get to experience all that performance? Driving day to day in bumper to bumper traffic? The answer is rarely to flat out no.

Well that depends on your commute. If it involves on/off ramps and cloverleaf turns like mine does, then you'll experience just a bit of what your car can actually do.

I'm not getting how you're not getting what I said. This is simple

Person likes look of car, lets say Camaro. Person cares little to ntohing about performance beyond being able to get from point A to point B, therefore they don't care to get a V8, etc. They understand that Camaro doesn't have the best MPG, no matter what version, therefore they get the version that gives them the best MPG, etc. They're willing to bite the bullet on that because they want the car style. This isn't uncommon

I bought my car new because I didn't feel like dealing with a ton of repairs. My 2013 Camry XLE Hybrid has 31,000 miles and I've had absolutely no problems out of it.

No, I understand quite clearly. I'm explaining to you that there's an inherent hypocrisy in that line of thinking.

This is just like the guy who thinks his BMW 320i with halogen headlights, leatherette seats, and 200 hp thinks his car is a luxury car.

I love how people assume buying a new car is the only unnecessary expense. What about kids, grad schools, paying for some mortgage on a house above your means or buying a house without using your head, pets, drinking, vacations abroad, student loans on a liberal arts degree at a private college, smart phones, starbucks, lottery tickets, video games, a gold diggin gf or wife, gas on long commutes, eating out, cable, sports events, cigarettes. weddings, and etc.

For yall hating on new cars yall can seriously take the nearest cab to haters alley because yall are so asshurt lmao.

Some of these are pretty stupid comparisons.

Some? That's generous

I'm not going to say every comparison there is spot on but fact of the matter is that a lot of those things are wholly unnecessary yet many of the same people don't mind spending money on them every month, even to the amount of costing as much as a car payment, even when there are cheaper alternatives, including just not buying them. I'd say the biggest waste of money on a month to month basis would be drugs and alcohol, yet I know people that spend hundreds a month on them.
