Apparently web design or anything IT-related isn't "a real job" because "you just sit and press buttons all day".

Which is empty. Because no one will hire me. Which is why I still live with them.

Maybe they're right.

My grandparents think that pretty much. Im not earning anything from atm, but I do part time work on the side. I'm working towards being a an indie game developer, so I spend my morning and afternoon working on it.

It took a while to convince them that it will be worth it in the future.

They grew up working in factories and just wanted their kids to get jobs because that was what worked for them. My parents are doing decent, but it just wouldn't work now. If I were to get a job at my Dad's place I would be on minimum wage and it wouldn't go up.

Similar to what I posted in another thread. Contact IT recruiters in your area. They work with business and the public to place people into jobs. Also instead of just searching job sites. Make an account and upload your resume. Companies search these sites for people just like you do for jobs. Indeed and Dice are the main two I use for IT.

If you live out in the country where there's no IT jobs then you either need to relocate to a city with plenty of IT jobs or start that factory work.

Side note, factory work is bull shit. Standing by a conveyor belt all day isn't even hard manual labor. It's just boring.

Good things take time. Keep your chin up and be dedicated about making it happen. Study what you need to do and don't be afraid to keep taking the next step.

Also take advice from people who've already succeeded in that department.

IT is a hard field to break into. Keep pressing on, keep sending the resume out daily. I finally got a non-profit company to hire me for shit pay, but once I got those first few years of experience doors opened up like crazy. It's a field that highly covets experience over education.

Nonsense. There are plenty of online resources you can use even if you've finished college.
