If a man goes into a women's bathroom, he's generally considered a perv, and women either run out screaming or beat up on him. But if we throw transgenders into the mix they won't be able to do anything without being considered transphobic. There are already cities that allow them to sue over someone referring to them by the wrong pronoun, allowing them to use any bathroom would be opening up a major can of worms.

Bathrooms are and always have been segregated by physical sex, hence the design of urinals in men's rooms. Use the room that matches your biological sex and leave your feelings about your gender at the door.

Cmon Admiral. I figure you to be a smart guy. If you look like Buck or someone like Andrej Pejic, It is clear you'd never work in the biological bathroom.

I have no problem with someone who looks like Buck using the men's room. In fact, I have no problem with anyone who can pass for that sex using the bathroom they'd like. If no one can tell that your biological sex is different from your gender identity, it's a non-issue.

You are contradicting yourself here. In one instance, you say it is okay. In the other, you say that feelings of the individual doesn't matter and they shouldn't use the restroom of the identity they feel.... at all.

I use the women's room. Even did in Tennessee and never had an issue.

What's that supposed to mean

Tennessee is a red state. Red states are the ones on high alert over us and I know Tennessee republicans are some of the more anti-trans republicans too. (The office ones, not exactly the constituents.)

Anywho, I will say that if I didn't pass enough to use the women's room, I'd have no idea what I would do. Even as I am, I go in there thinking about these women.... how they think of me. I try to keep my scarf up and so on. Thankfully, I have a small frame body and a femininish look to the point it's really not an issue, but I still fear it happening. If I actually looked very masculine, then you know.... I'd probably be suicidal. Probably. Thankfully, science has come so far to help.

It's not a contradiction. Bathrooms are segregated by physical sex, not gender, and everyone claiming otherwise or crying discrimination is wrong. Period.

That being said, I don't personally have an issue with someone who is passable using the opposite-sex restroom. If you look like Buck Angel, for example, and no one can tell, it's not a problem to use the men's room. If you can't pass for the opposite gender, then you use the one that matches your physical sex and check your feelings at the door, like I said.

I don't go by feelings I go by the law. If they win the right to have access to those restrooms then it's end of discussion.

Just saying what I'd say if they put it to a vote.

I don't even know how this even got to be a contentious issue, and I live in Houston, ground zero for this kind of proposed law. If you're a woman, go to the woman's rr. If you're a dude, go to the men's rr. Who the fuck cares how you got there, that's how it is.

The problem is that "being passable" is never a legal requirement. So, the danger becomes the precedent that all some man needs to do is say "I identify as a woman" and is allowed access to the women's facilities without issue. So long as we have policies based on feelings without verification, this is a problem.

So, if you cannot pass for the gender you identity as, use the one that matches your physical sex. And if you can pass, use the one you want, since it's a non-issue.

I agree completely with this, actually.

If someone intends to break the law by spying or groping or assaulting someone in any way in any bathroom, then they are going to do it regardless of what laws are in place pertaining to transgendered people.

Sheesh, it's like you fuckers think that all of this is a suddenly a problem now that trans people have more exposure, when is reality it's been happening ever since public restrooms were a thing.

Normal, law-abiding people, regardless of whether or not they're trans, AREN'T going to do assault someone. They're in there to take a piss, to shit, do their makeup or anything else you'd expect a person to do in the restroom. So if your reason for not wanting trans people to use the restroom they identify with is safety, well, you're fucking stupid.

Especially when you take into account that a trans person is more likely to be assaulted or harassed going into the restroom they DON'T identify with. Ah but that's right, you folks probably don't even consider them people to begin with.

News report on..." a transgender woman being beaten by two teenage girls at a Baltimore-area McDonald's, as employees laughed and videotaped the attack.

CBS station WJZ reports that the victim, 22-year-old Chrissy Lee Polis, calls it a hate crime and wants justice.

Polis, who is transgender, says the incident started as she was trying to use the restroom at the restaurant.

"I went to go use the bathroom. Come back out, the girl spit in my face, said, 'Are you trying to talk to my man?' I said, `No, I didn't even know that was your man at all.' The other girl came up, spit in my face, then they started ripping my hair, throwing me on the floor," Polis told The Baltimore Sun.

Police have arrested a 14-year-old girl and an 18-year-old girl they say attacked Polis. The 18-year-old has been identified as Teonna Monae Brown.

"They just seemed like they wanted to pick a fight that night, they really did. And come to find out that girl was only 14-years-old. I was shocked," she said. "They kicked me in my face; they really hurt me really bad and I'm just afraid to go outside now because of stuff like this."

Only one McDonald's employee can be seen trying to intervene in the assault. Several others can be heard laughing. McDonald's says the employee who videotaped the attack has since been fired.

The 14-year-old suspect has been charged as a juvenile. Police say they are still trying to determine whether to file hate crime charges.

What's stopping men from raping other men or boys in a men's room?

Sadly, nothing, as we saw in cases like Penn State when gay pedophiles had access to naked kids in a vulnerable situation. Since there are lot more heterosexual perverts and deviants, that's only an issue that would become exacerbated if biological men were allowed to be in locker rooms and bathrooms with naked girls and women.

So would you be in favor of gay bathrooms if homosexual perverts outnumbered hetero ones? Hell, maybe we should do that just to protect everyone from those straight weirdos. By that logic, why should we worry about trans people when cis ones are the much more prevalent perv crowd?

Numbers seem to be a weird argument to make when you are worrying about straight, cisgendered men pretending to be trans women to go into the women's bathroom and get caught being perverts.

We can't live life worrying about what group has the most perverts.

And what I am saying is that yes, they are going to, however, if a man walks into a women's bathroom and attempts to do this, women can gang up on the man, however because cameras are prohibited in bathrooms, the man can say that he was transgender and the women were prejudice. However, if transgenders had to use the bathroom on their birth certificate, the court could easily check to see whether or not he really was transgender, and have a pretty good idea of what they were really doing in that bathroom.

Insisting that people use bathrooms matching their genitalia, but saying it's okay if the pass as the sex of the bathroom in question is nonsensical and contradictory. Even bringing them both up disqualifies the first point as you're admitting that biology isn't a necessary factor for bathroom use.

As for sexual assault, there's no argument that can't equally be used to prevent openly gay men/women from entering male/female bathrooms (including post 69). It's asinine and backward.

I think we should all use whichever bathroom we want. Sometimes the lines are long for one bathroom, but they are short for the other. This isn't a snide remark against trans people.
