It's absolutely not. Slow metabolism means less energy which means you do less work which means you produce less food. It also means you heal slower, and recover from illnesses slower.

slow metabolism is only an advantage when dealing with prolonged periods of fasting and it's a massive disadvantage for everything else.

I don't really think there is an excuse beyond rare medical conditions. There is no reason to eat that much. It is irresponsible, selfish...there are starving people in the world. Eating beyond your means is the same as spending beyond your means.

I think we give people with "problems" like this too much sympathy. It's like society is taking responsiblity from them when in reality losing weight should be ones own responsibilty.

I've turned around and made massive changes in my own life once I realized I'm in control.

I don't want to be that guy, but this is not entirely true. My metabolism has been the same for about 12 years, and the last time I actually did any real effort was about eight ago, when I wrestled in high school. Now the most work I do, is walking to work(half mile at best) every day. I also eat EXTREMELY unhealthily and excessively.

My metabolism has been the same for about 12 years, and the last time I actually did any real effort was about eight ago, when I wrestled in high school. Now the most work I do, is walking to work(half mile at best) every day. I also eat EXTREMELY unhealthily and excessively.

I don't think you get what I'm saying here.

Your metabolism varies by the hour depending on your level of physical activity. It's not a stat in an RPG that you raise and it stays that way.

You find a lot of Marxist types on the left who will harp about "opression and privilege" in some form or another, so I can see why the connection was made.

It's an understandable but ultimately stupid connection that just lumps "everyone I don't like" into one group.
