Haha. I've tried being friends with girls like that and they never seem to have any time for me (since surprise, surprise.. they're hanging out with someone else).

I know women can be socially awkward/loners too, but they always seem to have way better luck making friends than us guys do. I've lost count of the number of guys I know that literally have no friends, but I can't really think of any women that don't.

If we're drawing unfair and misleading stereotypes, women are also really good at being shitty friends to each other. You don't have a bunch of guys sitting around giving backhanded compliments and then ignoring each other for weeks because of something someone said about their thighs.

I'll give you the having shitty friends thing. I just know that whenever I'm with a girl, her phone is going off literally non-stop. Even if she's not actively responding to anyone.

Then me: *checks phone after an hour* "Ooh, a new message! ..Nvm it's just a data usage alert."

Girls get a lot of offers, but imagine being bombarded with messages from a bunch of people you don't care about and who obviously want to use you one way or another. Even the most popular people really only have a handful of people they really call friends.

I'm pretty happy having just a couple people I can call true friends. But tbh, I wish I knew more people so I could talk and hang out more. Humans are social creatures after all.

True story time:

Once was on a casual "date" with a girl (i.e. we lived in the same town and went for a drink together and it got handsy). At one point some friends of my parents turned up and I felt awkward about it, so I asked her if we could stop the heavy petting and take it easy because I didn't want the gossip. Her response to this was to jump up, slam her drink down, grab her bag and go out to the smoking area crying. She then proceeded to kick up a giant fuss and threw a tantrum (people were staring at this point), and while I tried to calm her down and take it somewhere private she finished with "I'm sick of all this fucking drama! Why are guys so fucking dramatic???"

Jesus bitch. I said I didn't want to openly fondle you in a bar 5 feet away from my parent's friends, don't give me the drama line....

Oh, the kicker was she complained later that I didn't chase her down the street when she left. I guess I wasn't following the script in her head.
