Norwegian police have found a "bomb-like device" in central Oslo, and a suspect is being held in custody, the police said on their official Twitter account on Saturday.

A Reuters reporter at the scene said a large area had been cordoned off and that the perimeter was being expanded.

"For safety reasons, you must immediately move further away," a policeman told reporters as Oslo's bomb squad was preparing to enter the area.

"It seems like this device only has potential for causing limited damage ... we're now awaiting further necessary investigations," the police tweeted.

Oslo's Groenland area, a multi-ethnic neighborhood that is home to popular bars and restaurants as well as several mosques, is also where the city's main police station is located, less than a kilometer away from where the device was found.

In neighboring Sweden, a truck on Friday plowed into crowds in Stockholm, killing four people and wounding 15 in what police said was an apparent terror attack.

They very well may be. Lord knows I'm one of the most critical people of Islam on this board. But jesus, at least wait for details on a news story before thinking you know it all, it's not hard.

Come on, guys, there is no reason to jump to conclusions. The suspect could be anyone. It could just as likely be an elderly Asian woman as it could be an Arab Muslim man. Thinking anything else is profiling and is clearly racist.

Saying there's a good chance it could be a Muslim terror attack is a reasonable statement. Deciding that it's a muslim terror attack and using that as a basis to make sarcastic political comments is not a reasonable statement.

The Groenland area, a multi-ethnic neighbourhood that is home to popular bars and restaurants, several mosques, and the city's main police station. The police station is less than a kilometre away from where the device was found.

I'm not making any narrative, except "wait until you know what happened before deciding what to say about it". I literally have no opinion of this incident except "I don't know what to make of this because the details are incredibly slim".

The joke here is that I'm a frequent and outspoken critic of the left's soft attitude towards Islam and terrorism in general, but apparently now saying that we should wait for the facts is more liberal cuckitude or something...
