Honestly Metal Gear Solid kind of got me to actually look into actual historical and world events before it went completely off the rails.

MLB The Show definitely got me back into baseball. Guitar Hero inspired me to start learning guitar but I didn't get very far with it.

Oh yeah.
Fallout 3's soundtrack got me interested in 30's-50's music, which I still listen to pretty regularly. A Mega Man flash video on Newgrounds got me interested in Queen, and I first learned about Starsailor from the MGS3 credits reel. Two of my favorite bands these days. Tony Hawk got me into skateboarding, but then lots of people can say that. I even hopped on my old board a couple of months ago. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Oh and Mega Man X's mention of "the first law of robotics" was the reason that I, Robot movie caught my attention. Movie sucked, but had an interesting e.ough premise that I thought I'd check out the book it was based on, and that's when I got into old school sci-fi.
