After all, "simulated gunfire" isn't too incredibly different in intent than "TVMA DLSV"

The intent is completely different. The first is a health warning for people with hearing aids who might be harmed. The latter is mandated by the FCC so parents can control the content of what their kids see. Neither are trigger warnings.

They are both stupid bullshit, but I'd love if everything was just unrated with an optional warning beforehand. Drop a warning and then show all the delicious uncensored content you can.

There's no such thing as too much informed consent, really.

Do you think he has all these sites bookmarked or does he browse a website that "compiles" all these news stories in order to make people like Admiral rage?

This is actually explained in the OP, if you weren't too lazy to read beyond the title in your race to post an impotent insult.

That is literally you to a fucking T lmao.

I'm actually surprised you're still showing your face in this topic. Usually when people call you on your bullshit you run and hide and pretend it never happened.

"You got me, but let me try to save face by insulting you for the same thing I just did! "

At least you acknowledge your hypocrisy

Wow at an Admiral topic about triggers being so many posters trigger. :-)

That said, my wife is "triggered" or afraid of clowns. She rarely comes across them. It's not like they are a common thing in everyday life. Though I would argue depending on where you live, neither is gunfire. However, knowing court jesters (clowns) would be at the Renaissance fair last weekend, we all still went as a family and had a good time. One come to close to her ... she might reach out for my hand and hold it tightly till he's out of sight.

GoldenEel and Balrog make good points about actually triggers and not the bullshit use of the term that is used as am insult here on CE. Like the first sentence of my post. I might not understand triggers myself personally, but I would say that there probably is a healthy way to address those triggers and still have warnings. There's a time and place for everything. I think "facing your fears" at a play isn't it. But like others have mentioned, with a therapist.

This is funny. Somebody so weak minded that they can be broken by having to evacuate Wall Mart for an unknown emergency literal steps from the exit.

To me, this seems like the equivalent of almost having a car wreck, then not being able to enter a vehicle for 9 years, then being thankful when the box for The Fast and The Furious warns me that there will be cars, car noises, and car wrecks.
