1 rabbit saw 6 elephants while heading to the river. Each elephant saw 2 monkeys going towards the river. Each monkey holds 1 parrot in its hands.

How many animals are going towards the river?

1 rabbit is heading to the river, 2 monkeys are heading to the river, each monkey has 1 parrot (2x1 = 2)

so 1 + 2 + 2

btw, this is under the assumption that the elephants (not heading to the river, mind you), were in a herd (likely) and saw the same monkeys

this isn't stated, however, so the question is actually too vague to answer

regardless, the elephants themselves will never be headed toward the river, so it might also be that there were 12 monkeys, each with 1 parrot

but fuck that, it's stupid because elephants are herd animals

that's why they are pach-yderms

It could also be pretty much any number between 5 and 25. They could each see two different monkeys, but if two elephants saw the same monkey, it'd be 23 total.

It doesn't say "each elephant saw the same 2 monkeys," so it's vague enough to have more than one answer.

yeah, so that's why this question is too vague, but i left the in-between as an exercise to the reader

*wink*

but no really, it depends entirely on the middle part

edit: i stand by my herd rationalization tho

It doesn't say each elephant saw 2 different monkeys either, so you have to take it at face value. Face value is 5.

nah, not in a true logic puzzle. either assumption is valid, it isn't spelled out by TC.

No, you're adding in details that aren't actually part of the puzzle. 5 is the correct answer. Good day to you.
