Current Events > Spontaneously bought a bus ticket to Osaka/Kyoto

About an 8 hour bus ride from Tokyo and it leaves in 2 hours. Don't even have a place to stay yet, I'm a little worried because this is like peak tourist season. I'll probably end up getting a capsule hotel or something.

Any CEmen been there before? Any recommendations because the really obvious? I'm especially interested in nice foreign friendly bars or restaurants in Dotonbori/wherever. I'm traveling alone so it'd be cool to meet some people.

go to a capsule, I forget which one I went to but I went to one in osaka that was pretty nice for like $29

in osaka I was only there for a day and went to dan dan town and walked around the main area for a while, also went to a club there. I think amerikamura too?

in kyoto I went to the temples in the area and our friend who lives there showed us around to his university and other places which was nice. we made day trips out to nara and such. we went to iwatayama monkey park, Kinkaku-ji, Ginkaku-ji, ryoan-ji Himeji Castle. there's a manga museum there too which I didn't get to go to

ryoan-ji, Gion (Geisha), buddhist temples, bamboo forest, Fushimi-Inari Shrine are other things we didn't see

np, we just checked out as much as we could. we had a day in kyoto, most of a day in nara, and a day in osaka before we left for kobe. I hope to come back to japan soon
