Did I quote TC? No. So why are you talking about it like I was directing my comment toward TC? Clearly I'm referencing the guy that said "Trumpeteers would have done the same", in response to somebody saying the left does it. Because he does bring up a point. You can't say "Group A is evil because they're doing X", when Group B is doing the same thing, or similar actions. The difference is that MARKINGRAM wasn't justifying the actions of Trump supporters, he was simply saying that the left is committing similar acts as well.

My whole point is, you can't use "they would've done it too" to justify the actions of a group. Rioting and violence is wrong, regardless of whether or not you're a liberal, conservative, or something else

Why can't you? Saying that group a is doing something bad doesn't mean you're saying that group b isn't. You just happen to be discussing group a right now. If you really think it's a serious problem you would criticize group a formit. Not come in and say "yea well group b..."...

This doesn't make sense. We're arguing for the same exact thing here. I completely agree. But MARKINGRAM was refuting somebody that said they are COMMENTING mean stuff on a webpage by saying the other side is rioting and violent. Commenting on a webpage is vastly lower in scale than violence, I'd say. So that is a fair point, I'd say. But I agree with what you're saying, which is why I responded how I did originally. If the liberal violence is a problem, why refute it by saying "b-b-but conservatives would have done it, too"? That doesn't justify the actions of a whole group.

If the topic had been about conservatives doing violent acts, I would not be on MARKINGRAM's side. But the difference in violent acts committed by liberals and posting mean comments on the Internet is drastic.
