How much replay value does this have?

This game is tight though. It's obviously different than other RE games, but they add the little touches, like a menu sound effect, and it seems cohesive.

One regular playthrough
One knife only playthrough on the easiest difficulty
One chainsaw playthrough
One playthrough on Mad House (highest difficulty setting)

That was it for me until I got bored, might replay it next year, I replay all the classic RE games every once in a while and RE7 fits right in with the classics.

Ehh it's debatable. There's optional difficulties and extra items and stuff you can get for replays but personally that didn't click for me, once you beat the game there's no reason to replay it.

That's why I didn't understand the Ethan's Nightmare and Ethan Must Die DLC modes.

I haven't played Madhouse myself, but it sounds like a really good way of doing a hard mode. Rather than just making enemies do more damage and your guns do less, they drastically change things around. Just one small example: Jack immediately starts to stalk you once you beat him in the garage. He doesn't wait until you get the shadow piece.
