The two are both nothing alike and have nothing in common (other than a good work ethic and an entrepreunurial spirit) so it'd probably be a boring meeting.

Aren't they both paranoid extremists with rural backgrounds working in an office setting? I wouldn't say they're nothing alike.

They're about as alike as Hank Hill and Homer Simpson.

I just gave a few reasons they're alike and that's your rebuttal?

I'll take this as a victory.

You gave a weak, superficial characterization that tries to make the facts fit your argument rather than crafting an argument that fits your facts while ignoring that they're nothing alike in terms of personality, they're nothing alike in terms of interests, they're nothing alike in terms of knowledge, etc. Frankly, you should be ashamed for giving as weak an argument as you did and yet here you are trying to claim victory. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.

Well I think "paranoid" definitely goes towards the personality category, and you're totally ignoring how I pointed out their similar backgrounds and work setting, which are completely fair points.

But I can tell even you acknowledge that I won by that "Tsk"-ing you did at the end which signifies you're joking. I guess that's the closest you can bring yourself to admitting defeat.

Dwight is a mix between Leslie and Ron. He's got the kill or be killed attitude of Ron. But he's got the letter of the law attitude of Leslie.

Truly a matchup for the ages.

No, because it's not even a similar kind of paranoia. Ron is a survivalist whereas Dwight just thinks everybody is out to get him, which is just classic paranoia... mostly brought on by Jim, etc. Nor would any "paranoia" make up the bulk of their personality.

Because apparently working sales at a for-profit company is the same as working at a government agency. By that logic, EVERYBODY at both companies is exactly like both characters. And their backgrounds aren't even close except, again, in the most superficial way.

I'm going to take that sad, pathetic spin as an admission of your mental inadequacy.

In some ways they're alike, but in others they're very different. They both take themselves very seriously and generally don't like people. But Dwight dedicates himself to work where that's the one place Ron doesn't apply himself (hating bureaucracy and all), and Ron is not a conspiracy theorist or have delusions of grandeur.

Ron at the very least thinks the government is out to get him, and possibly others. Throwing the computer in the trash after seeing his house on Google Maps is a prime example, but nice try.

You said they were nothing alike. I responded with some clear similarities. I don't have to bring up similarities that meet your standard for not being superficial, I just have to bring up similarities. And I did. Maybe you shouldn't have been so hyperbolic as to say that they are nothing alike and have nothing in common(outside of those two points you made, which aren't their only similarities).

the whole point is that they're nothin alike.

i want to see dwight react to ron, and ron react to dwight.

the thing i just never understood is why nbc never had the two shows meet. it would have been fantastic.

truly fantastic.

obvious anne wouldn't have been able to be there, because she played a different character on the office, but still.

could you imagine leslie and michael in the same room?

His privacy concerns had nothing to do with government and being "on the grid" pertained to private companies when he did that.

Your excuses are flimsy. So far your entire justification is because they work in an office setting (like countless other people in tv shows) and because they aren't opposed to being outdoors (true of everybody except shut-ins).

Dwight would start talking, Ron would tell him to shut up.

Probably because the Office was beginning to end when Parks & Rec was starting to take off, but also because you can't have a cross-over where Rashida Jones meets Rashida Jones. Plus neither show crossed with 30 Rock, although Amy Poehler made some appearances.
