Do a main mission \ planet.
Talk to everyone on the ship \ space station to see if there are new missions \ dialogue options
Do a main mission \ planet

rinse repeat.

Accoridng to my friends they don't bother going back to the main station or talking to their crew. Seems like a way to miss missions \ dialogue options?

yeah i go back all the time.

RPGs are story driven so it makes no sense to just run around doing actiony things and get nothing out of it.

Andromeda is pissing me off with how little crew interaction there is.

I wanna tell Suvi her eyes and pretty and her boobs look neat and I'm gonna make her pray to Jesus in my cabin.

Different types of gamers.

We, the losers who post on forums and take "Story" seriously explore games and talk to people and learn the lore.

80% of gamers don't even complete a game they start.

And I'd say 10% of them just plow through it "Next"ing their way across and getting angry and anything unskippable.

Before now this was hard to measure, but we have some (loose) ways of actually quantifying this now.

Steam, Xbox One and PS4 all put their Achievement unlock percentages up. So they're recording everyone with an online connection.

You'll be floored how many people have paid for and installed a game and then not even got the baby first "did the first bit" achievement.

And then especially with games like God of War Remastered where there is an achievement for every level, you can literally see the figures drop off.

This is especially hilarious in mainstream Triple A games where you see this demonstrated with Gusto.

Good example is The Evil Within. When I beat it the achievement unlock percentage for beating the game was ike 7%

And every single "Cute little side" ahievement for things like "Don't hit the Zombies with a bus" or "Don't kill anyone on level 2" I got along the way was like 0.78% unlock.

Possibly the most hilarious one is there is a bit where a guy falls off a make-shift bridge and you have to pull him up. I did that and got the achievement and again it was like 0.3% unlock. So 99.7% of PS4 The Evil Within players on PS4 with an online connection saw their buddy hanging onto a clif for dear lfie and just went "LOL DON'T CARE!" and ran ahead.

Mass Effect Andromeda's will be a bit wonky because the game is so new, but seriously, next time you have a minute, check out the Achievement unlock percentages on your favorite game and realize how much of both a minority and a nerd you are compared to the average gamer.

They talk more than they did in ME1 and ME2 at least. ME2 was quite light with the squad conversations because there were so many.

A lot of people will argue and complain that achievements are worthless and useless, but this is a prime reason why I enjoy them. You can really see who accomplished what, how deep into a game they really got, and have a bit of a standing record of your own accomplishments outside of a leaderboard.

Most often achievements show how long you spent on a game, not how "deep" into it you got. The Souls games are famous as being "hard" games, but their platinum trophies usually only require that you beat the game two and a half time or so, maybe spend time grinding for STUPID PURE BLADESTONES!

You're not requirement to prove your prowness aside from being able to complete NG+.

Indie games do tend to have some interesting achievement lists that require you to be able to do some cool shit, though.

I always end up doing as few main story missions as possible, because I don't want to hit any "points of no return", doing the boring side/fetch quests to get overleveled/not miss anything.

Because of this I usually get bored and drop a game instead of just going for the MQ

Also, I go out of my way and powergame the shit out of it and try to get OP equipment ASAP without a regard for game balance. This also tends to make the game boring which leads to me quitting.

True but some games flat out have achievements for every level and some have achievements for progression and completion.

If only 50% of gamers are reaching the halfway point of a game, that tells you something

Although this is a hilarious thought, consider that earlier you said many players never even got the bunny slope trophy. So probably a decent part of that 99.7% actually just never got to that part of the game instead of ignoring the guy.

That said, it does mean that basically everyone who did get there still did ignore him.
