Maybe look at my resume for the answer? They don't fill me with much confidence.

I hate when the website of the place you're applying to asks you to fill out all of their electronic forms when it's all on your resume anyway.

Then the page you've been typing on for a half hour kicks you out of your session for being "inactive" and doesn't save any of your work.

Time to get a new web developer.

You do know that they ask these questions to see if your answers match up with what you've put on your C.V right? It's just like when a interviewer asks questions that can be answered with what's on your C.V and they have your C.V in their hands while doing so.

Nobody's ever done this in any of my interviews before.

They have in mine and it's fairly common for that to happen as is this in your topic.

Yeah. I've had it happen. I've even interviewed candidates and done similar.

You'd be surprised at how many people send in outdated resumes as well. That's one way to catch it early.

I've never been asked where I worked before. The closest I've heard is something like "So you used to work at ____?" but that's usually a rhetorical question that's meant to be interpreted as "Tell me about what you did at ____". If a company wants to know if you're not lying about your work history, they ask for your previous employers' contact info and whether or not you can contact them on the application.

Some do tend to ask for references regardless. I always find that irksome.

This just happened to me a few hours ago. She asked where the last place I worked was, I told her, then she read off when I left. Then she asked what I'd been doing since the, I told her I just finished my degree, and then she read off what my degree was in and the university I attended.
