It is incredibly frustrating to be consistently dismissed for being who you are really. Fighting for survival, trying to hold a job, finding doctors, and places to live safely. All while wondering if the person starring at who from across the room with hateful eyes is violent. After their family disowned them, as well as all their friends. They still fight for their medications, and work and save for those surgeries. All while fighting the stigma of not fitting inside of a neat little binary.

No amount of counseling or therapy will stop someone from being who they are.

If you think that's bad, imagine how vulpine and other furries feel considering they don't even have surgery available yet.

No trans people do not have equal rights. Can you. Be fired or evicted because you are a man? Do doctors refuse to treat you because if your race? All of these things can happen to trans people around the world simply because they are trans.

Just imagine the up roar if a hospital turned away a caucasian American for being white. "This doctor isn't familiar with white health issues". I'm sure you would say that would not be equal rights.

While that is unfortunately true, the frequencies of it happening are different based on race, gender, sexuality, age. Ect.. Trans people are denied services more than cis people. Trans people come in every race, age, gender and sexuality. Intersectionality is important.

Mental health issues are quite stigmatized in the US. The brain is a part of the body that requires preventative and routine healthcare as well. Being trans isn't a mental illness on its own. They are just more prone to develop certain social and mood disorders in coping with social stigma and expectations. Not all trans people develop those mental issues. No one really experiences dysphoria the same way either. I cannot speak for all trans people any more than a single person can speak for all men or women, or all heterosexual people, or all white people or people of color. Humanity is diverse like that.

Human nature to be afraid of stuff you cant understand.
Look at history with different religions, skin color, homosexuals, living one meter too far to the right, etc.

my bad, i thought you were making the opposite point. we are in total agreement here.

My only issue is when these people, or their supporters, try to fucking tell me to feel some type of way or say some shit that isn't true. I don't care what anyone wants to do to themselves, even if I don't agree with it--it's their right to do so. but when they try to tell me i have to refer to people as something they aren't and cannot be then i get triggered as fuck and that's when i'll say some shit to vent

but truly, my only issue with them is how it seems like they're trying to force an agenda on me and others like me. i don't mind them as people and accept them as human beings with their own opinions, wants and rights. all i ask is that they don't try to come and tell me that things are a certain way and i have to accept them or be bitched at and labeled transphobic or w/e, like i give a fuck about labels anyway.

i just don't like ppl telling me i have to pretend with them when i don't want to. I'm sorry but I absolutely refuse to acknowledge a transgender as the gender they want to be because in my mind I consider this an absolute impossibility and I feel that supporting such things is a huge step backward in the overall advancement of our species. But if they are nice and civil then I can be, too, and have no problems doing so. just don't get uppity when i refer to you as the "wrong" gender b/c in my mind, you're wrong, but if you don't bring it up, i won't, and we won't have any problems

Homosexuals can be transphobic as well. If you really think about any issues you have with the LGBTQ community, its probably not manly gay men or girly lesbians. Trans people were erased from the gay movement for a time, even though our visibility started it in many ways. Most homosexuals are cis as well, and can still have trans bias.
