I am not trans, but I dont care what someone else chooses to do with their body. It has zero impact on me, and they can live their life however they damn well please. I dont understand why people feel the need to berate them. People should be free to live however they want as long as it doesnt harm others.

What hostility? Most that so-called hostility is imagined or projected. If anything, we're overly accepting and have normalized what was previously treated as body dysmorphia. In the past 100 or years or so, we've done a complete 180 in regards to this subject.

I think it's interesting that half of us don't care whether someone is trans or not.
More often than not it's the actual trans person talking about it and making a big deal about it.
Why do they need parades?

I think trans people make others look at themselves in a different light as well. A lot of people don't like that. The disconnect trans people feel with their bodies is something that is difficult for a cis person to perceive. If they can't imagine it, it must not be real.

I find most are self involved enough to not really care what others do with their lives, as long as it doesn't effect them. Those that feel strongly feel strongly, and generally should be avoided. Violence against trans people is very real.

It is incredibly frustrating to be consistently dismissed for being who you are really. Fighting for survival, trying to hold a job, finding doctors, and places to live safely. All while wondering if the person starring at who from across the room with hateful eyes is violent. After their family disowned them, as well as all their friends. They still fight for their medications, and work and save for those surgeries. All while fighting the stigma of not fitting inside of a neat little binary.

No amount of counseling or therapy will stop someone from being who they are.

On that note it does bug me how some folk feel the need to be all in your face about it and even more so those who jump on the bandwagon to sling name calling around like "bigiot", "raciest" and so on when folk simply don't agree with their view. I think people are free to believe whatever they please but when they actively go out of their way to force their opinions on others that's when it becomes a problem.

There are plenty of trans people who function well and even better when treated with gender affirming procedures. Trans people are as diverse as any race, age, country, and sexuality because every culture around the world has a gender non conforming population.

This all is finally gaining visibility. Its hard to learn about things without bias when things like media representation has historically been negative.

Being transgender is not "a complete disconnect from reality".
Again, what really bothers you about such a small portion of the population feeling this way anyway? It doesn't effect you. No one is questioning your gender. As I have said, we exist in every culture for thousands of years. How is that not normal to not accept us as we wish to be seen?

If you are referring to parades, you have to realize that historically gay people spent their entire lives in the closet and most people had never knowingly met one. Gays were viewed as some kind of super fringe, dangerous ultra-minority (thanks to false stereotypes and anti-gay propaganda). One reason the gay rights movement gained steam was because gay people finally started coming out. People realized that gay people were relatively common, they already knew them, and that there was really no issue. People fear the unknown, so it was important for gays to gain visibility--parades were a good way to do this.

Over time they have evolved into more of a celebration of how far gay people have come, but early gay rights parades looked very similar to civil rights marches.

I was referring to anything that's considered/used to be considered to be out of the ordinary and how some individuals feel the need to make a song and dance about it by feeling the need to tell you all about it before you've even said hello to them. These very same people claim they want to be accepted and treated normally yet their behaviour is abnormal to say the least. I generally don't like people who continuously want to draw attention to themselves no matter their sexuality, race, gender and so on. I find it irksome more then anything.
