Going outside wasn't fun for my eyeballs, even with the protective UV shades. So I'm stuck inside with the blinds drawn, and I'm not supposed to strain my eyes out with computer or TV or reading...so what else am I supposed to do?!

I can't sleep all day because I need to take all my eyedrops and tablets every 4-6 hours. I want to play a video game or even read for my classes, but I don't want to fuck with the healing process somehow. My eyes actually feel fine so far; no real irritation or pain so long as I keep up with the scheduled drops.

MEH. I miss Sims and Civ.

I've already got music going. Eventually I'll finish cleaning my bedroom; I cleaned the rest of my apartment yesterday.

I'm definitely watching Toonami tonight though. Maybe I'll just tune in for Samurai Jack and go to sleep afterwards.

oooh new idea: pair my laptop to my stereo receiver via Bluetooth and listen to ASoIaF audiobooks!

And I just found my laptop's Magnifier option, how helpful.

After PRK, I was watching Dragon Ball Z within like 2 or 3 days and I'm fine now. At least you're past the goblins stabbing the back of your eyes segment and into the I still can't see phase

Take some of that valium I know you got and chase it with some fancy beer.

Fall asleep.

Repeat.

lol yeah, like I can watch things if I want to but I don't want to risk straining my eyes for too long. I get the contact bandages out on Tuesday so hopefully my eyesight will be a lot better from then on.

I did this except without the Valium and beer! Just made sure to wake up once an hour for eye drops.

I knooow and I have so much reading to do for my class on Monday so I can't really hold off much longer. I think I'll be fine so long as I take regular breaks, keep my eyes lubed up and shit.

Eye surgery recovery sucks. I didn't have a lot to do for the first few days. Audiobooks are a good suggestion.

I rented them all via Chegg which has it's own e-reading system. But actually all of my readings this week are pdf files so I could do a Text to Speech thing, right? Is that included in Adobe Reader or Acrobat Pro?

My coworker keeps pushing me to get corrective surgery, but I'm a baby when it comes to stuff going near my eyes and I don't want to screw the procedure and my eyesight up haha

The actual procedure was smooth--no real discomfort or pain. I know some people can't handle things around or in their eye, though. Like my brother could never get past putting a contact while I had no problem with it.

I only started getting anxious when he was scraping the stuff off my left eye longer than he did with my right eye >_>

Congratulations. I had Custom PRK too a few years ago and it's the best thing I ever did. I can't even tell you how amazing it is to wake up and just be able to see without glasses or contacts. My eyes were permanently dry for the first few days because of those dumb contact band aid things they make you wear. Did they give you the gross milky white drops that you can taste behind your nose somehow? It's literally cancer in a bottle I hated those things.

Bruh I had like 6 different prescriptions so I have no idea, lol. But I can definitely taste one of these drops in my throat after using it on my eye....bleh.

Right now my eyesight is better than seeing without my glasses, but worse than seeing without my contacts. I hope it'll be better by Monday because I can't afford to miss work.

It really isn't that bad. I had the same concerns as you but after doing all sorts of research I decided to take the plunge.

I even asked the doctor if there was a chance I could go blind and he said he had never heard of anything like that happening. It is surgery though, so there's always a risk but they're minimal.

The worst part was after the numbing drops and valium wore off.

I hate when people use "literally" wrong and compare things to cancer that are nothing like cancer.
