We may as well be speaking completely different languages. I never really know what they're talking about. It's just...I don't know. Every time they try and talk to me about sport, or I'm watching some interview or something on TV, I'm alienated, and really bored. How can people understand this stuff?

I can't stand watching sports tbh.

Serious sports fans are just nerds of a different genre. Knowing the stats of the 6th man on the Bulls is equivalent to knowing the stats of a full armor set in your favorite RPG.

I can talk about football. Pro and college. I like my Niners and USC. I know enough but I'm not the type than can tell you what play they're about to run as they line up. Or even know the full lineup of the teams. I know enough to be into it, who the important players are and what position they are. When a play is bad, when a call made by the refs is shit.

Everything else. Yeah, it may as well be another language. MLB, NBA, NHL. I actively hate soccer though. Just fuck that noise. And I like pointing out every time some other country and it's people like to look down their noses at us Americans as being rude or uncivilized. We don't act like absolute animals that trample each other to death in the stadium over a damn sport. Where we have to have actual barbed wire between seating sections to prevent crushing. The last NFL game in Mexico they showed that setup in the stadium.

I'm a sports fan (to an extent) and a geek at the same time. Definitely more of the latter though. While I watch sport, I'm only really into two or three, and even then, I do get tired of watching them at times. I've generally been more into playing sport, but my illness (Duchenne muscular dystrophy) has progressed to the point where I ce fan't do so any more. That's been the case for many years.

I hate watching sports for the same reason I hate watching people play videogames. It's just not fun to me to watch other people playing any sort of game, instead of playing it myself.

I love playing sports, I hate watching them.

It personally bore me, but I sometimes eat chicken wings with friends who like to watch sports. That's weird because my most hardcore sport fan friends are overweight and I am fit.

If you're a man in America you're expected to know the basic rules of sports and a few player names if you want to fit in with social circles.

It's really easy to 'maintain' this sort of knowledge. I never watch games of sports. Like, ever. I haven't in years sat down to watch sports.

But I can still maintain a conversation about sports if necessary, allowing me to fit in.

I dont watch any television because I hate it :P I only watch sports. Personally TV shows and movies do not hold my attention. Sports are real and when a football player blows another's brains out after spearing his ass, he is actually doing that. Sports are way more exciting too...well most. Hockey, Basketball, and Football are the best. Also horse racing is a great watch too because I love to gamble:P
