Anagram 07/05/12 5:32:00 PM #7:	I doubt Clefairy would have taken off the way Pikachu did. Pikachu is just really well-designed, I'm confident that had it not been the face of the franchise, it'd be a fan favorite like Arcanine. Clefairy is good, but not that good. Anyway, I was at a smaller scale tournament a little while ago and there were these guys that had to have been in like their mid thirties. Now most people carry around card binders full of valuable cards in the metagame, but I had the unfortunate experience of noticing that one of those 30-some neckbeards had his binder full of pinups of Misty, May, and a bunch of Naruto girls. These pinups were comprised of normal trading card sized sections that formed the full image when arranged in one of those 3x3 trading card binder pages. He was TRADING these things with the other creeps while moaning and saying things like "so beautiful...". It wouldn't have sucked, but I guess it wouldn't have been a particularly successful idea to give a shonen male protagonist a pink, girly-looking pokémon as his main one. I'm pretty sure that controlling lightning is more impressive than most of the things Clefairy can do, too.
