Like, objectively I'm pretty sure I like the first game the best. But right now, having just completed that last one, I'm finding it really hard to say that. It rounded out the trilogy very well.
Time for case rankings from all three games! (For those who remember my thread months ago when I beat the second one, some of the rankings amongst the first two games have also changed, having thought them over again)
1. Bridge to the Turnabout (3-5) 2. Turnabout Goodbyes (1-4) 3. Farewell, My Turnabout (2-4) 4. Rise From the Ashes (1-5) 5. The Stolen Turnabout (3-2) 6. Recipe for Turnabout (3-3) 7. Reunion and Turnabout (2-2) 8. Turnabout Sisters (1-2) 9. Turnabout Samurai (1-3) 10. Turnabout Memories (3-1) 11. The First Turnabout (1-1) 12. Turnabout Beginnings (3-4) 13. The Lost Turnabout (2-1) 14. Turnabout Big Top (2-3)
And because I did it before, I'll add a redone Top 10 (and Bottom 1) character list:
1. Miles Edgeworth 2. Phoenix Wright 3. Dick Gumshoe 4. Godot 5. Luke Atmey 6. Udgie 7. Maya Fey 8. Manfred Von Karma 9. Damon Gant 10. Winston Payne
Least Favorite: Lotta Hart (But Ron DeLite sure did try)
Ugh, after all I've heard about it, I really don't want to start Apollo Justice. Still, I suppose I must. I expect lambasting of my opinions here in the meantime, so have at it.

Your opinions aren't bad. I mean, I don't agree with them (especially Winston Payne in the top 10 what the heck), but they're mostly justifiable.
The hair bouncing and the hair falling away in defeat were so hilarious, IMO. That's what put him there. Hell, sometimes when I'm thinking I do that hand motion (where he taps his forehead with his fingers).

Wow, 3-4's really low. 3-4 is at least a top half case! Aside from that, pretty good case ranking. And for the record, I actually PW1's the worst of the trilogy, but they are A++++.
I love Winston Payne but he's not Top 10 worthy. Top 30 worthy, though, yes.

Rank 9, Dr. Peace? Pffft, nothing compared to Rank 1, Dr_Football! when thinking of Krystal, does GMUN's pants get overcrowded? ~ GMUN
Yessssssss, Search ~In the Midst~ 2002 is so underrated. Love that song so much. Not my favorite though. Gotta be stereotypical and have PW1 Cornered as my favorite.

There are quite a few minor differences between your ranking and mine (2-4, 1-3, 3-4 too low, 1-4, 3-3, 2-2 too high), but all the important stuff is pretty much where it should be. Good to see another appreciating just how good 3-2 is for total filler, I must say.

From: MrSmartGuy | #015 See, now this is an opinion I will never understand. Personally, I think: 3 > AAI > 1 > 2 > AJ Speaking of opinions I will never understand.
AAI doesn't fix the shortcoming of exciting stuff happening though because it's not the same without a courtroom setting and a rival. I mean, it's still a good game, but I wouldn't rank it over any PW game.

Unlike some people, I don't think AJ is a terrible game. Flawed as it is, it's still better than the slag heap that is Ace Attorney Investigations.

As important as PW1 was to laying the ground-work for an amazing series, each individual case is fairly straightforward, the pacing is a little off, and nothing too terribly exciting happens nearly as often as the other games. AAI fixes all three of those shortcomings, imo (except E-3, I suppose, that one's pretty straightforward and not very exciting either, but I still enjoy it, for what it's worth)

While there was nothing wrong with the courtroom setting, hardly any of the investigation phases were fun at all, and I appreciate them trying to blur the line between the two. So while the highs of AAI aren't as high as even PW2's, its lows were nowhere near 2-3 levels, and I'd go so far to say 3-3 levels.

I couldn't like 3-5 as much as most people because what I always hated the most about the PW series is the spirit channeling thing, and that case was basically that on steroids.
Fair enough. I mean, if I rank all the cases, I think AAI's top case would only be, like, 7th overall, but its lowest case would probably be less than 10 spots below that.

It's not that I hate spirit channeling. I still play the game despite it. But...well, it really did detract from my enjoyment of a few cases.
I'd agree with AAI being consistently very good. I loved the game. One thing it suffered is that it's hard to get the tension going when your main character is Edgeworth. He never quite goes "JESUS CHRIST WHAT IS THE ANSWER" so it's hard to feel like the tension is really high. He seems more annoyed that he hasn't figured things out yet than anything else. I liked that tone though. It was pretty fun.
AJ...I liked a few points of it, but 4-1 was its best case and everything after that was a let down. I thought that 4-1 was setting the pace for the game's quality but that...really wasn't the case.

3-2 is solid.
Out of all the pure "filler" cases, its easily the best.
