Well, then I might as well pull off my first Nuzlocke. I'm not big on Pokemon games so this is also my first run in this game itself, but if it's not a claim game, I gotta play someway.

But I still need my Cyndaquil named in order to start this thing. If I don't get a name by the time dinner comes, randomized it shall be.

Well, now I'm on the first step of my journey. My character is rude, always barging into people's houses without knocking and then walking into a girl's room without checking. I mean, both May and her mom freaked by that.

Stupid prenamed rival, went hunting for her and kept getting stuck against a Wingull. Water Gun kind of hurts, ya know? Thankfully accidental grinding got me higher levelled than her Mud-slap spamming Mudkip. Left that fight with 6 health and now lv 9. Now to begin the true journey of catching and training.

I need more people. Though next lap of my journey has started, thank mom for the Running Boots, now I can actually move like a normal person (except indoors). I went ahead and caught my first two Pokes, I'm unsure if catching one on Route 101 was actually valid though thanks to receiving my starter there, but we'll ignore that factor since I named him in the lab.

Starting with 101, a Poochyena showed and I named him Poka, then I went on to Route 103 and thankfully got a Wingull again. She got named Cata, though I think I'll be forced to name the next route after Natwaf since I don't have the names to make it to the Dragons that I know of. But I'll just post how I've got them so far, and then ignore posting again until I've made it further in the game.

Team:
Hydras- Lv. 9 Jolly Cyndaquil
Poke- Lv. 3 Timid Poochyena
Cata- Lv.5 Naive Wingull

At least I don't have to worry about not attacking first later. But my damage output is mostly coming from Cata.

You are a failure of a fisherman. Trainer battle time. Most of them have been fairly easy, considering Seedot (Sup) can last the first round then I use Hydras or Cata to finish them (As they are my priority of levelling). There however have been two Youngsters that have nearly gotten some of my Pokemon. The first was a Rattata that crit on Sup for the first move as I used Bide, halving his health so mad me fear two Tackles to kill, but he didn't. The second was first a Spinarak that annoyed me and Bide, but then got to poison Hydras. It was defeated quickly then I switched Hydras out for Cata immediately. Next was a Ledyba that made me have to switch between Cata and Poka because of Supersonic, while Cata couldn't land its own one. Putting both of them in the red, Sup in the yellow from Spinarak, I sent out Hydras. Had to use a potion on Hydras, but he finished the battle.

Next up is the Petalburg Woods, a place of a Nuzlocke trainer's worst enemy, poison.

Cata- Lv 9 Naive Wingull
Zee-Ex- Lv 7 Bold Slakoth

What is "Emerald 386", exactly, besides being Emerald obviously? Anyway, if you get an Eevee, name it either "JeffsFave" (if that even fits) or "Rad".

Don't quote me on this, but it's pretty much Emerald with the ability to get all Pokes from Gen II and I, rather than just the normal 3rd gen stuff.

What I know of it is that it's more difficult than the regular Emerald. Any specific eeveelution you want? By team I prob would have to go Jolteon or Espeon, though I've never tried the Espeon/Umbreon evolving method so I can't guarantee I'd get one or the other. (If I use Eevee at all, or get it at all)

Hm. I think I get it, I went through the woods then over a bridge and now I have to battle a little girl. Roxanne is now Little Red Riding Hood without her hood.

Okay, in all seriousness, Rustboro city here I am. And time to grind since Wingull is half Flying and could get killed by falling rocks. I head to Route 105 (since 104 has nothing for me currently) and end up catching a Nincada. The nincada was female and so I thought of the last thing I remember a cicada being in, which was an anime I watched recently leaving it with the name Mizuru.

I also caught a Weedle in the woods, but missed the naming process so it'll be in my box from now on. Even though it killed one trainer by itself. Time for a grind and then to beat Rustboro gym.

Oh hey, just read that answer, Wicklebee. Thanks for the heads up. Anyway, as it stands (as in, just training a Leafeon for the first time and I've never trained a Glaceon) Jolteon and Espeon are my top two for sure, so that works splendidly.

My training continued, including getting another Poke that somehow skipped the naming process, a Pichu that I won't bother checking and shall leave in box.

Training consisted of giving Bullet Seed to Sup so he actually had an attack, and both Sup and Hydras evolved. Then, with the Lv 16 Cata in front, I chose to go after Roxanne. I had beaten her lackies while training before, which Cata had made easy work of.

The battle started with her Geodude, same level as Cata. He OHKO'd the Geo with Water Gun. Then came the Onix at 18. Fearing if OHKO didn't work, I used Supersonic, thankfully it hit and Onix hurt itself, then another finish with Water. Next was her Nosepass, which I shifted to the lower levelled Sup for. Bullet Seed after Bullet Seed and stupid Nosepass using Block to make me fear for Sup's life. Allthough, one Super Potion later and both of her potions, A crit on one of 4 seeded bullets got the Nose to Critical health and he missed a Rock throw (Sup being at half health after a Rock Tomb). And Sup finished the turn after.

Stone Badge recieved, Cut put on Zee-Ex, and... some thievery happens outside the gym.

Went and chased down the Aqua member, then got a Great Ball and a PokeNav from Devon Corp. Of course, it's not free as I have to deliver stuff first. So now that I have Cut, time for two steps. The first is that I'm going south for stuff to cut from there, then I'll hit the trainers on the upper route.

And I run into May, we exchange numbers, and then time for a battle. WHERE THE **** DID YOU GET THAT TORKOAL!?! I don't know how she got way past me in no time what-so-ever, but I guess that's what rivals are for. Poka started since I was ready to level her (I'll use pronouns as the Pokemon, so don't take it personal if I'm calling one of you a he or she even though you're opposite gender, as if you guys follow this anyway). In the red immediately by an Ember and switched to Cata. After that Water Gun galore on a Torkoal that just cursed itself, Cata levelled again, gaining nothing but stats. Next is her Mudkip, to be countered by Sup. A few Bullet Seeds later and it was over.

I'll avoid giving an update since the team hasn't changed.

May is such a terrible rival. I love Emerald so much (favorite game in the series) but I also like the rival angle in the games a lot, and RSE really falls flattest there. DPP got better about it, but it wasn't until BW that I feel like it reached RBY/GSC levels again. D:

I'd probably rank rivals 2>1>3&5 since I never played 4th Gen. I'm not a fan of the later gens since your rival isn't exactly supposed to be your friend. First two gens are miles above the rest for having them as true rivals.

Well, I'm glad someone follows this, but... Poka: Lv 9 Timid Male Poochyena you shouldn't be offended, your poke won't be called a she. Though you will be called the dog that has a bark worse that its bite, since the attack is weak.

Well I see that point, but I really dig how Gen V has like three rivals goin' on, and N gets kinda serious-business later on and always has that lulzy mysterious air about him, which is pretty much the most we can ask for with Pokemon game plots anyway and it works.

But yeah, individually, Blue and especially Silver (good call on putting Gen II above Gen I, IMO) are better rival rivals and I really miss that.

Now over seas, my dad calls. No clue why he's checking on me, doesn't he have Gym Battles to do? Well, went into Granite cave and the first Poke I see is an Abra. My lead was Poka since I'm trying to train him minorly. Fled too easy so one lost catch.

Heading further I found a Sableye, and bored of the Nuzlocke hit so I chose to catch him then leave. Courtesy of the Nuzlocke though, Sableye shall now be in the last box and not used until after this game is beaten. Next time I post shall be after grinding and ready for the gym. I pray I don't lose Cata, being the only Poke with type advantage it'll suck if I lose him.

Time for training is over, in order to get to Steven I must beat Brawly.

After Gym Trainers I have a Lv 19 Sup, though he can't be used mush due to being half Dark, a Lv 21 Hydras, and a Lv 24 Cata.

First up is his 21 Machop against my 21 Hydras, Fire being thrown around from attacks on both sides, at least Seismic toss wasn't that strong. He uses a Super Potion but Hydras gets the last laugh as the Machop falls, but not without Hydras being in critical health.

Next up was the lv 22 Makuhita against my Cata. Cata's first Supersonic lasted two turns and didn't hurt him the first time, but it got him the second time forcing Makuhita to eat a Sitrus Berry and get the second Super Potion. Then comes the final, a Lv 21 Meditite. Again I use Supersonic first, but twice it misses. He used two Bulk Ups during that time, so my attacks will be weaker now. I use it a third time and this time it hits, and the Meditite hurts itself. I use a potion to get Cata to full health (just incase) and another hurt itself. I land a Wing Attack, and he lands a Brick Break. Him in critical, and my dropping about 2/3s of my health. Speed tops all though and I get the finishing Wing Attack. And she gains a level... ooh, Pelipper time.

Knuckle Badge is mine, and Flash goes on the cicada. My poor trump card will be useless next gym though, stupid Electric leader.

Last thing of tonight, I've gotten to Steven and he gives me Steel Wing. That would have been nice at Rustboro Gym, not here. But it seems it's a nice give since after I set sail and made it to the docks, I got a call from Roxanne saying that eventually she'll want to battle me again.

Well, like usual I gotta go hunting for some idiot who decided to wander off. First stop, the Pokefan club, apparently Poka adores me and that compassion gave me the Soothe Bell. I guess Poochyena really is one of man's best friends. I love my doggy too. And then a reporter shows and asks me stupid questions.

Lastly, some kid wants to teach me Swagger... I always hate that move.

Continuing on, within a few days I've continued to be irritated at paralysis and many other stats that keep making my Pokes harder to level because of EXP going to 3 or 4 pokes at a time.

Caught Hideto, whom is a female Adamant Electrike. Then found some weird cave that has starter Pokes in it, first one I found was a breakdancing Bulbasaur. Caught it and named it Xavier, but it went to my box, so I forget gender and don't know nature, but I have no obligation to care about it for now because of Sup being a superior grass... somewhat.

Currently training till Zee-Ex and Poka evolve. Am still debating whether to allow myself to grab Shedinja but put in in the last box like the... I forget its name already.

Time to set this straight. I leave for my home state tomorrow, but the house up there doesn't have internet. So unsure whether or not I will be able to keep everyone updated. As of now I've fought May again and Wally as well.

Lombre, Slugma, and her Marshtomp... she really hates fire-types. Then you have Poka soloing Wally's Kirlia which was 11 levels higher and then evolving. Other than that, no other things to note and I will play up to the point that it would fit in an entire update, then as soon as I'm able I will update. If I don't get a chance, I'll end up creating a new topic if this one purges when I come back after the summer. Farewell for now, those of you that pay attention.

As a little game, if someone ends up posting before I fall asleep tonight (you'll know by either me replying or when the updates come), they may choose the theme for how I name any Pokes that don't have names of b8ers from now on. Only one I still have left is reserved for a Dragon.
