Board 8 > I guess its time for a playthrough topic of Banjo Kazooie (and Tooie) *spoilers*

I wanted to playthrough a series throughout the summer, like the Mario & Luigi games or the early final fantasies, but ****ing Phantasy Star II took up most of my time, so I guess I'll settle on these two games!

I don't even know one could make a good playthrough topic of these games but I guess I'll just post my thoughts and progress as I play through the game!

I don't think I've ever played a "Collectation" for an extended period of time before. I've rented Mario 64, Banjo, and DK64 but never owned them, let alone beat them. so this should be interesting at least

as I said, I have played this game before, but that was a long ass time ago, I don't remember anything about this game other than Kazooie is a girl and she can fart eggs

I should mention that I'm playing it on XBLA

I heard there was a gamebreaking glitch that prevented 100% completion but I just downloaded a patch so I think it was fixed

I started the game up and I'm greeted with a hoedown. I gotta admit, I rather enjoyed it

on the main menu, you can pick a slot to start your game in, and one of them shows Banjo playing a gameboy! You'd think they would've modified that

Psh, oh well. It's not like Nintendo is seeing any more money from old Game Boy sales!

And because I'm feeling like a dick, I think I'm gonna start up a new game right now and see if I can beat it before you even get to Clanker's Cavern.

I completely forgot they speak in a weird language. Its actually funny. the Mole's voice and Kazooie's voice amuse me for some reason

as I was typing this, their idle animations kicked in, Kazooie started pecking Banjo's head. then she did it again but BANJO GRABS HER AND STARTS CHOKING HER

Playing through Banjo-Tooie currently. Not as good as I remember it, but still pretty fun.

These games bring up a lot of great childhood memories for me. I must have played the first game like 20 times. I was pretty into them.

Just 2 honeycomb pieces per world. The 6 to start was to teach you you need 6 for an extra piece of life. You can see where you are in each world by pausing and going to your totals.

Protip: To survive a fall from any height, do a Beak Buster on the ground you're standing on, and then start the fall while Banjo is still in his rebound animation. You won't take any damage.

Gonna do an exit game trick now, so I might as well return to this later when you're playing. Up through World 7 complete in 2:03 so far. I like to be at this point in 2 hours or less, so not the best run, but it's always ****ing World 9 that makes or breaks me, so we'll see what happens.

All you need to know is that you shouldn't play the puzzle game in Banjo's house until you collect all the notes in every level. The reason why is because, for whatever reason, the game assumes that Banjo collects the notes in the world when it shows him collecting notes after a puzzle is completed. Since notes are collected permanently in this version of the game, those notes are gone forever, and you can't actually collect them.

I'm trying to free Clanker and I've drowned 3 times already

you can't control the camera underwater and the camera i AWFUL when its following you.

I noticed the little fish dude but the problem is, I can't tell how far away the bubbles are, and I always seem to miss them. and the camera rotating whatever which way is aggravating. and the swim controls aren't that great either

alright, tried again and I got lucky and got one bubble, which gave me enough time to free Clanker and go back up

I eventually got all 10 jiggies and all of the notes, as well as the honey comb pieces. my life went up!

the only problem now is I only found 8 mumbo tokens. gotta keep looking

I had no idea Tiptup was in this game!

I found all of the jiggies, but I didn't find either of the Honey Comb pieces

and I'm not entirely convinced I found all of the Mumbo tokens either
