I don't think I'll ever understand why Tajiri's favorite pokemon is Poliwhirl. Polisloth is basically just the Whirl on steroids, so I tend to lump them together despite some people thinking I'm some kind of monster for this. I suppose I have to give it originality props since in RBY it was not only the only Water/Fighting type, but the only fighting type that was a dual type. And people say that new gens are unimaginative. I guess Poligreed isn't awful, but there are 12 fully evolved water types from Gen. 1 that I'm ranking higher. Even Misty has a Politoed instead of a Poligluttony (even if it was an accident). Despite looking beefy, Polilust ended up in the RU tier for B/W, and it looks like it's used for typical rest talk and sub punch builds anyway, which you can get in a ton of other Pokemon. Another thing that always kind of bugged me is how Red's Poliwhirl in the manga evolved into a Polienvy with no water stone, but I guess that's probably a product of game logic not flowing into the logic of other Pokemedia.
Coming Up: 284- A member of a legendary trio that hasn't shown up yet 283-It's type combination is unique to it's family 282-Winona trained one (yeah, big stretch to give out hints on this one)
From: SuorGenoveffa | #002 Poliwhirl is pretty awesome. Whirl>Wrath, I'll give you that. It's not "bad" I just don't see how anyone would think of it as their favorite, let alone the creator of the series.

You didn't read the Yellow chapter, did you?

Landorus pissed me off because it's just a gimmick to get you to buy Black and White despite GTS existing. I never got around to capturing it because I wasn't going to buy Black for 2 Pokemon (my girlfriend has it but never bothered hunting down Tornadus). I'm torn on the whole trio because I felt it was entirely lazy for all three of them to be so similar in design but they all have an overall ok design at the same time. Regardless, Landorus is definitely my least favorite designed of the three, so having to jump through the extra hoops to get it is bothersome. I'm not a fan of Lando's new form, but at least all three don't look the same now. All three managed to hit OU tier, but not quite make it to Ubers, but like I said before, I pretty much never use Legendaries even if they are in OU.
And when you mentioned trios, I didn't even think of the Kamis. I know they are a trio, but they're not really the traditional trio of each generation.
Ah Thundurous is Uber, that's cool I guess. I consider all the trios as trios. Birds, Gerbils, Weather, Regis, Lake, Creation, Kami, and Tao. Kind of consider Musketeers as a trio but kind of don't...
Yay only Ground/Psychic type! This thing is just a big clump of floating dirt with a bad case of pinkeye. It bugs me when I can't imagine much variety in sprites for a pokemon, and there's not with Claydol, just look a them...
Pokemon without a face or limbs just kind of suck, there's no personality in there. It's in the UU tier probably more due to Stealth Rock and Dual Screens than anything else, which there are better options for. It may be the only Ground/Psychic type for now, but I'd love to see better one later.
I really need to get through the part of this list that I'm apathetic about. Pelipper is just another bird Pokemon that doesn't bring a whole lot to the table. I mean pelicans are pretty cool for IRL birds, but when a game is fantastical and you basically just make it an exaggerated version of the original animal, I can't say it's bad, but I just don't like it. It's typing is the same as friggin Gyarados, so it becomes incredibly forgettable. I kind of liked it for a bit in Emerald because it became my Surf/Fly slave, but that was more out of convenience than it being the best choice. It's NU and basically a giant lightning rod (literally), so I doubt many people even bother using it.
Upcoming: 280- Paul trained one 279- It better like eggs, damnit! 278-It has yet to appear in the anime (yeah, this is a crappy hint <_<)
This thing is so useless in battle, I mean look at it, stats are in the toilet (only one breaks 50), it's ugly as hell (multiheaded ugh) and it just pisses me off. Sure the female Combees get an evolution, but the males just have to sit around being useless. If anything needs an evolution in Gen 6, it's this. At least let it alt evolve into Beedrill or something. I don't know why it looks so happy, because it's in a dead end job with no hope of advancement. Damn thing doesn't even have a non-LC Smogon entry.
K, I'm done trolling. For real, Combee would probably be at 641, just above Lopunny because it's that terrible...
280 (fo realz version). Torterra
Given that Venusaur has already come up this shouldn't surprise anyone. Torterra is anothergrass starter and it's pretty boring to me. Nothing particularly offensive, just a turtle that they forgot to make grass so they planted a tree in it's ass. Now that I'm looking at it, maybe they were going for a landscape on it's shell or something (mountains on the right, tree on the left?). I guess that's kind of cool, but I'm not buying that something like that would evolve properly, it's a little too convenient. IIRC, a lot of people like Grotle, but it feels like it's design has the same problem, but even worse.
It looks like someone made a pretty cool looking Pokemon but then said "ah crap, it's supposed to be grass type" and used MS Paint to put some shrubs on the side. It's typing is criminally obvious, though somehow the good people at Gamefreak made it the only one of it's combination. It's just as well though, all things considered, if I want something that's 4x weak to ice, I can have the dragons line up around the block. Torterra is probably a Pokemon that by all rights I should like, but for some reason I just don't. As is typical of starters, Piplup and Chimchar both seemed like much cooler options than Turtwig.
K, I guess that hint sucked. My fondest memory of Magcargo is using it as my egg hatcher in Emerald (Yay Flame Body). If not for flame body though, it's pretty bad. It's one of those pokemon that is pretty much just it's types personified. It's fire and a rock... that's pretty much it. Not surprisingly, it's NU. Being 4x weak to water and having a 30 speed makes it absolutely awful.
Torterra is the only good final Stage grass starter. Grass Pokemon are so disappointing, but Torterra has powerful Wood Hammers and Earthquakes to help make it fun to use.

Dat typing is pretty cool, but dat design is pretty bad. Beyond stuff like Tentacool and Tangela, we really don't need more henticle rape monster potential in Pocketu Monsteru. Considering it has Iron Barbs too, this one's a total sadist. At least they didn't give it the Hydreigon treatment and make it's barbs have eyes and a mouth. Ferrothorn made it into the OU tier, which makes sense considering it's only got 2 weaknesses and about 30 resistances. Spikes, Stealth Rock, Leech Seed, and Gyro Ball seems like a fun moveset, if not completely predictable. I just can't get past the weird plant UFO design. I would have preferred something like a robot powered by a plant or something. Hell cut off the tentacles and I think it probably would have jumped 10-15 spots on the list due to that alone.
Upcoming: 277.It has less limbs than it's pre-evolutions 276-A Scumbag Gym Leader or Elite 4 member used it, despite it not being their "type" 275-This Pokemon is ALL woman
