Can you just imagine?

- James McCloud storyline with Fox
- Slippy with a Metroid sucking his face
- Fox & co & Samus getting new high speed racing vehicles
- Captain Falcon out of the pilot's seat and on foot on missions
- F-Zero Wing. All you base are belong to Falcon
- All the racers getting to do stuff outside the cockpit
- Star Wolf, Dark Samus, and Blood Falcon team-up.
- Samurai Goroh as badass comic relief villain

I sure hope it's proven fact or fiction at E3 and thank you for properly referring it to being a rumor (there are those out there that have already made it seem like it's 100% fact and that's just not the case). Unlike PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale which I from the very beginning gave my word that it was in fact 100% legitimate, things like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Manhattan Crisis and Star Fox - Metroid: Fusion Saga are simply rumors.

They didn't come out of thin air, either, but I also don't have the proof of confirming that they're real. At the very least, I do believe that this game in particular may have at the very least been discussed about in a roundtable discussion as a potential game that Retro Studios would develop.

At the end of the day, it was Paul Gale Network that 13 months ago landed the story that Retro Studios was developing a game that "everyone wanted them to do" and without having any lead on the story to follow for over a year, when I received this information, I just had to share it.

I say, be optimistic in that the game would be a quality effort if true, as Retro is more than capable of producing amazing stuff, but at the same time, don't hold onto this as being fact and wishing too hard (if you're one that likes the idea).

17 days will hopefully tell all.

Anyways can't wait til E3 - I mean I already couldn't wait, but now there's this to see if it's real or not. In any case we'll probably be finding out Retro's new game whether this is it or if it's something else. And ANYTHING they make is guaranteed gold.

Not so much "ruin" as "take the series in a new direction". Then again, the #1 thing I would do to change Other M would be adding first-person on-rails sections, with vehicle and turret sections following. Plus I want to see the authorization mechanic return in the next Metroid game (I didn't like the way Other M handled it, but I would rather see it re-tried than for the series to go back to the old ways). If we did get an old-school, "non-restricted" Metroid, it should be horror-themed IMO.
