Kind of like making a karaoke track? My sister's supposed to sing for a talent show or something and she's stuck on one song that she can't find a karaoke track for?

I believe audacity has a function like that, but I don't think it's too good.

Yep. There are separate programs that do it too, but I wouldn't recommend it. They're all pretty bad (audacity's version too), and will either:

A: Take a good portion of the instrumentals out with the words.
B: Leave a very audible "hushed" version of the singing behind.
C: Both A and B

Yeah, just tried the audacity thing and it distorted it a little and you could hear it in the background. She can probably make due with it regardless, but we'll see. Thanks anyway.
